Regular news from Bucksteps

 2011

29th. August.  Dinah has produced 2 lovely little bitches, At last a bitch puppy for us to keep, don't know which one yet, we will have to wait and see, they are both very well marked and look pretty at this stage. Mum and babies are all very well and happy. We are very lucky that Dinah is one of the very few Boston bitches who self whelps (no C.Section which is a BIG bonus)

25th. April    Ella has had a gorgeous litter of EIGHT lovely babies, 3 flashy bitches, 3 flashy dogs, 1 solid dog and 1 white dog. Mum and babies are all doing wel.

21st. March.  GOOD NEWS. We had Ella scanned today and she is definitely in whelp, she is due around the 21st. April. It will be lovely to have Boxer babies again, as Ella is now our only Boxer this will be hers and our last Boxer litter. I can't believe it is 37 years since the birth of our first litter of Boxer babies, where does the time go !!!.

16th. January. After the sad loss of so many of our old Boxers last year, I hope this year will bring all good news. Well, so far so good. All the snow has now gone, but here comes the RAIN !!!, it hasn't stopped for 3 days now and the road to Kendal is flooded so we are stuck at home. The Bostons hate the rain although Ella (Boxer) thinks it is great, lots of puddles to jump in and get wet and dirty. I am with the Bostons on this. Apart from the weather all is pretty quiet, not much happening on the "doggie" scene. Ella is due in season soon and we hope to have a litter from her in the spring, which is a lovely time to have puppies, fingers crossed all goes well.

We spent last weekend in Chiswick (South West London) with our youngest son Adam, his wife Sam and their two children Zac (8) and Maddie (5), It was great to see them all. We all went to the British Museum on Saturday. Pete and I went to Oxford Street and "Westfield" on Sunday while the children went to the "footie" and parties etc. It is always good to get out of the countyside and see how the other half live for a while. A little culture does us good.

The Scottish half of the family, Sean, Shirley and thier children Zoe (17) and Robert (12) will be with us next weekend, so we are in for a busy time.

 2010

27th October. Today we brought home "Madge" (Holzar Talk Talk) a new addition to our "herd". She is 3 months old very sweet and VERY lively. Madge is the daughter of Bucksteps Butterkist and Jayrock Talkin' Texas. She is also the Gt. Grandaughter of "Ria" our very first Boston. so she really feels part of the family already.

27th. June.  After Dinahs good news last week, today was heartbreaking. We had to let our lovely old girl Zara go, she had not been good for a few weeks, definitely going downhill but not in any pain, finally we had to make the awful decision to let her go. She was 12 1/2 years old and very much loved, we are all still trying to come to terms with our loss, Ella and Dinah can't understand where she has gone, we all miss her, the house isn't the same without her. She was kind and gentle and beautiful. Her "posh" name was "Champion Bucksteps Broderie Anglaise" follow this link and you can see pictures and read more about her on her own page.

20th. June.  Dinah "Burlesk Lady Marmarlade At Bucksteps" produced 3 lovely male puppies today, she did have 4 unfortunately the last one didn't make it. Mum and babies are all doing well, we will put up photos on the puppy page when they are a bit older.

27th. May. We had sad news today, "Bucksteps Annie" died a few days ago, she was born on the 12th. March 1993 At just over 17 years old she is the longest lived BOXER we have ever bred, although most of our Boxers get to 12 or 13 years, we have never had one reach such an old age. Annie's sire was "Bucksteps Going For Gold" and her dam was "Bucksteps Hot Gossip"  ( the older sister of Ch. Bucksteps Charlie Brown and Ch. Bucksteps Bittersweet) She will be sadly missed by her family.

19th. May.  Great news, we had Dinah (Boston) scanned today and she is definitely in whelp, puppies due around the 20th June.

13th. April.  Oh dear !, still more sad Boxer news, Todd's litter sister "Evie" (Bucksteps Evita) died today, Like her brother she would have been 13 years old on the 30th. June. Evie was a beautiful little Boxer, she did very well in the show ring winning many first prizes also one C.C under judge Karri Wilberg, but her heart wasn't in showing, she really just wanted to stay at home and be a "couch potato".  After her retirement from the show ring she lived with Gayner and Peter Griffiths and "Muffin" (Bucksteps Miss Muffet) and all the rest of the Griffith family. She had a great life, Evie and Muffin went Go Carting almost every weekend  with the family, the girls were included in all the fun things. She will be greatly missed by all.

11th. February.  Not a good start to the new year as Todd "Ch. Bucksteps Starlite Express" had to be put to sleep to prevent any further suffering, he would have been 13 years old in June. Todd lived the last few years of his life with Margaret and Michael Gibbons and their daughter, plus all the family of dogs, cats and rabbits, he had a wonderful life.

Todd gained his title in 2001 having won 3 C.C. and 5 Res. C.C. Being a VERY LIVELY dog he was not easy for me to handle, luckily he was also very good natured, he loved everyone and everything. For his last few shows he was handled by Claire Kay, who did a great job with him.

We will all miss him, he was a great dog, a fantastic character, loyal, loving, and just a bit of an "idiot", he was a REAL  Boxer.

2009

 "ELLA'S CHRISTMAS BABIES"

26TH. December. Boxing Day, Very apt we thought !!!!  Ella's   babies were born today, a special Christmas pressie from Ella. They were due on the 20th December (she was 6 days late !!!!)  but she wouldn't let us open the parcel until Christmas. We have 5 beautiful Boxer babes, four girls and one boy all show marked, what more could we wish for. We will put up photos when they are a little older.

21st. November.  Judging "the South Wales Boxer Club Championship Show" was a delight, although the weather was dreadful we had a very good entry. I was judging the Bitches and found my Bitch C.C. Winner in "Andum Sky Blue Pink" owned by Sue Malcolm, this was her first C.C. although she has several Res. C.C. to her credit. Andrew Brace judged the dogs, his C.C. winner was "Walkon Mickey Blue Eyes" owned by Yvonne Miller. Pam Broughton judged Best In Show from our two CC Winners, and gave the award to Mickey Blue Eyes, a super young dog also winning his first C.C.. Best Puppy In Show was Parker & Martin's "Olleyville Meggy McPhee" who was my Best Puppy Bitch Winner.
