About "Bucksteps"
The "BUCKSTEPS" kennel was established in 1970. We are members of The Kennel Club "Assured Breeder Scheme" And have been awarded an "Accolade Of Excellence" by the Kennel Club
We are situated in the north of England half way between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, which must be one of the most beautiful areas in the UK Peter and I married in 1962, we have two sons and four grandchildren, so all our dogs and puppies are well used to having family and children and friends around. In 1970 we bought our first Boxer "Cider Gold Of Bucksteps" (Candy) who was to be a family pet for our two small sons, little did we know then that she would be the start of a life long love and commitment to showing and breeding Boxers. Since then we have bred many Champion Boxers including our famous "Champion Bucksteps Charlie Brown" who won "Best Of Breed" at Crufts in 1997. and his sister "Champion Bucksteps Bittersweet" who won the title of" Top Bitch" and "Boxer Of The Year 1997", and went Res. "Best Of Sex in Breed" at Crufts in 1996 & 1997. Luckily Peter shares my love and interest in the dogs, although since his retirement in 2004 we no longer show the Boxers, nor do we have the kennels as we moved to a smaller house, still in the same village but with less land. As we are not getting any younger we decided that a smaller breed would be a good idea for the future. So after a great deal of thought and advice from our "doggy" friends in 2006 we acquired our first BOSTON TERRIER,."Falconcrag Snuff 'N' Nonsense At Bucksteps" (Ria). What a wonderful breed this is, we thought nothing would compare with our beloved Boxers, but we are both absolutely besotted by them. Although we show little these days, we qualified our first home bred Boston for Crufts at her first show. So hopefully the name of "Bucksteps" will continue for a little longer. As we are now a very small kennel all our dogs live indoors as pets. We are members of the "Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme" and our dogs have complete health checks before we breed from them.
